Would you want to try some 'Adoption'?

War was preceded in Sudan for many years and it had returned lots of people to become a refugee. Those refugees had only one way to survive from this catastrophic fighting, running away. The story of Lost Boys had gave lots of people the real perspective on Sudan people who suffered from losing their culture and had putted in a situation where they forced to migrate. Peter and Sanito were the people who migrated to U.S and had very difficult period of time showing what exact people will suffer from cultural perception.

Being to live in the city of Texas in U.S was surely a big change from living in small town in refugee camp in Kenya. These Dinka boys had faced lots of challenges through their living as the culture and expectations in U.S was much higher than they expected to be. Education was available, jobs were needed, incomes to be care and surrounding changes to suffer them. As in previous place they lived on, there wasn’t any expectation of learning and studying as people there and surroundings were very poor to do them. But in America, as we all know, education was available highly and widely. Those Dinka people were expected to learn things there but new cultural view. Teachers were expecting better background than they have. Teachers were asking silly questions which couldn’t be answered by them. Job places were all just new to them, machineries and workers were all U.S based as Dinks people did not knew what to do. The house usage also had no mercy on them. Every equipments and life basis were just a single miracle to them.

In order to overcome those challenges that they faced, they had to throw some original cultural aspects from their motherland, Africa. They just have be like Americans, such as wearing clothes like them eat like them, speak like them and just live like them. Peter started to join the basketball crew. he also wears and talks like people in the crew and just followed them. in here several stereotype prejudice occurs as they thought of all black people are rude and guilty as peter faced only one black American who was being rude to him during the match. what they had to do was just get on to it and adapt all the aspects they needed from this country. even though they had the difficulties trough this tough adventure to other country, they gained opportunity and solution to fixed up through this obstacles.

  1. I think your thought of the Dinka boys and how they have suffered through the period in the U.S. is very clear. Your description of the Dinka boys was very interesting to read with the boys' past also explained. It was a great idea to start with their background and explain why they had such a hard time.
Although I think that you could have explained much more giving more descriptions. You have said that there were several stereotype prejudice, I think you could have added more information about how the Americans treated at the trolley mart, letting him work at the sunny weather. I think you had a very clean writing, which allowed me to agree with you, and I think if there was a picture that sums up your writing, or represents your big idea.
Overall, good job, and it was a pleasure to read what you have posted.
